Sinewry — Support

Sinewry was called Daoyin until version 1.0.1.
Daoyin exercises from old Chinese books, read aloud and demonstrated by a line-drawn figure.
Questions, bug reports, a translation you think is wrong, or a form you think we have misread: support@sakulla.com. We read every message. If it is about a form, tell us its name and the set it is in.

Common questions

There is no sound

Check that Voice at the bottom right is not struck through, and turn the volume up. The app reads aloud even with the silent switch on. If you hear nothing in one language, make sure a voice for it is installed: Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices.

Will the screen lock while I practise?

No. While a set is playing the screen stays on; once it is paused or finished, your normal auto-lock applies again.

How does the daily lesson work?

Open the contents (tap the title slip at the top right) → A lesson a day. Choose how long and whether standing or seated. Lessons follow the order of the books, picking up where the last one ended. If you stop halfway, the next time you open the lesson it continues from the form you reached.

Why is the original text in Chinese even in English?

The original is the point: every form is shown in the words of the old book, with this app's English translation of the current line beneath it. In English the app reads the translation aloud.

Why is one of the Five Animal Frolics not demonstrated?

The Ape Frolic asks you to hang from something by your hands and by your feet. A phone app cannot do that safely, so the original text and its source are given, but it is not demonstrated or put into the daily lessons.

I can't do a form

Go only as far as you comfortably can, and stop if anything feels wrong. The app illustrates exercises from old books and is not medical care. If you have an injury or illness, are recovering, or are pregnant, ask your doctor first.

Will my progress be lost?

Your progress is kept only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it; an iCloud device backup keeps it.
